Richard Lee Mitchell, 85 years of age, departed this life peacefully on November 13, 2024, at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Thayer, MO, after a battle with cancer. He was born December 4th, 1938, in Salem, AR, the eldest of 5 children.
In his adult life Richard and his wife, of over 60 years, raised 3 children. He was a beloved grandfather and friend. Anyone who knew him knew his true passion in life was hunting, of all kinds. He spent many wonderful years training and running his hounds. He enjoyed traveling to Colorado with his mules to hunt elk and ride the mountainside with friends and family. He was an excellent storyteller, making the most mundane topics entertaining. Richard was a humble man who prided himself on always being honest. He will be truly missed by many.
