Peggy Ann Atkins

Peggy Ann (Means) Atkins, daughter of the late Ferlan “Pete” Andrew and Thelma Grace (Johnson) Means, was born on November 16, 1937, in Eminence, Missouri. She departed this life on April 4, 2022, at Ozarks Healthcare, West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 84 years.

She was united in marriage to Chester “Bud” Neil Atkins in Salem, Arkansas. To this union three children were born, Julie Ann, Lou Ann, and Ferlan Neil.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Bud Atkins; her parents, Pete and Thelma Means; four brothers, Bill, Richard, James “Jim”, and Kerry Means; and one son-in-law, Roy Rogers.

Survivors include two children, Lou Ann Rogers, and Ferlan Atkins and wife, Rhonda; six grandchildren, Jeremy Neil Rogers of Clinton, MO, Craig Neil Atkins and wife, Ericia of West Plains, MO, Shelby Jean Richardson of Winona, MO, Miranda Janeil Voyles and husband, Tyler of Winona, Derek Clark of Winona, and Morgan Chilton and husband, Ronnie of Mountain View, MO; twelve great-grandchildren that she loved and adored; and many brothers, sisters-in-law, relatives, and friends that will mourn her passing and who she cherished dearly.

Peggy lived in Shannon County most of her life, and she was of Christian faith. She worked shortly at the Angelia and Paramount factories but was best at being a wonderful mother and housewife. Peggy enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, making dolls, and macrame. She loved taking rides outdoors and enjoyed looking at our beautiful county we live in. Peggy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
