Ronald Edward Capetty, 90, of Theodosia passed away July 22, 2023 at his residence. He was born September 18, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Joseph Thomas and Marie Nicasia (Farina) Capetty.
Ron graduated from high school and spent 2 years in college before entering the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, Ron began a long career at Conlon Collins Ford working as an auto mechanic. He also volunteered for 13 years as a paramedic where he earned the distinguished honor of being named the nation’s “Citizen of the Year”. Ron resided in Chicago, IL, Streamwood, IL and Lake in the Hills, IL before moving to Theodosia in 1994.
On September 10, 1955, Ron was united in marriage to Maureen (Duszak). The couple have spent a wonderful 68 years together. He was the best husband, father and grandfather. He always put others first, and never wanted to be in the spotlight. Ron loved golfing. He and Maureen enjoyed many adventures traveling in their motor home. They especially loved visiting the National Parks and camping. They have visited all 50 states! He was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his wife, Maureen Capetty of the home; four daughters: Gail (Jack) Hamilton, Karen (Victor) Grosso, Janet Capetty, Cristie (David) Stanek; grandchildren Joe (Lynda) Callahan, John (Jennifer) Callahan, Jeanna Callahan, Nick, Kylie, Alyssa & Colton Stanek, Heather (John) Krueger, Scott Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Marie Capetty; his mother and father in-law Florence and Edward Duszak; one sister Marlene Moser and her husband John.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the St Williams Catholic Church in Gainesville, MO following Full Military Honors in the church vestibule. Visitation will be Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks, 701 Burnett Dr, Mtn Home, AR 72653 or to St Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
