Ronald “Ronnie” Dale Howell, 76, of Thomasville, Missouri, passed away on April 21, 2025, with his family by his side. Ronnie was born on November 26, 1948, to Ted Wayne Howell and Mildred Irene Andrews.
On September 10, 1969, he married Linda Fay White, and together, they built a life filled with family, hard work, and lasting memories.
He served in the United States Army from April 30, 1969, to April 21, 1971. Ronnie worked at Southwest Truck Body for 45 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and steady presence. After retiring, he spent his time on the Howell Family Farm, raising cattle and growing a large garden. He enjoyed sharing what he grew with neighbors and friends and was always willing to lend a hand when someone needed help.
Ronnie loved to joke around and was known for his pranks and good-natured teasing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. More than anything, he valued time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchild, who brought him a lot of pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Howell; his children, Rona Downs (Mark) and Stacy Howell (Jolene); grandchildren, Sydney Downs, Brady Howell, and Harly Bettis (Aden); and great-grandchild, Baylor Bettis. He is also survived by his sisters, Judy Woods (Don) and Joan Simmons; brother, Eddie Howell (Margie); and several nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Scotty Woods.
He will be remembered as a kind, hard-working, and fun-loving man who cared deeply for his family and community.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Woodside Cemetery, Thomasville, Missouri, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Birch Tree, Missouri.
