Rosell Howard, 84, of Belton, MO passed away December 18, 2024 at her residence. She was born June 27, 1940 in Zanoni, MO to Sigel and Carrie (Newton) Smith.
Rosell grew up in Ozark County. On February 16, 1957, she was married to Jim Howard in Moody, MO. The couple eventually moved to the Kansas City area and made their home in Belton, MO, where they raised their family.
Rosell loved quilting and sewing. She made several things for her grandchildren and great grandchildren over the years. She loved her flowers and was very talented making arrangements for headstones and such. As her family can attest, Rosell also had an ornery side. She loved having fun and enjoyed life to the fullest. Rosell was a Christian who was very deep in her faith. Even when her health began to fail her and she couldn’t attend church, she never missed watching Sunday morning services. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Rosell is survived by one son, Jim Howard and wife Debbie, of Belton, MO; one daughter, Dianne Armstrong and husband Steve, of Belton, MO; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several siblings; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sigel and Carrie Smith; her husband, Jim Howard Sr; and seven siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2024 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO. Visitation will be Monday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Smith Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Smith Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
