Ruthie Lee Harris

Ruthie Lee Harris, 93, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away on December 21, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Ruthie was born July 21, 1930, in Moko, Arkansas to Jay Felix Bassham and Mary Evelyn (Holloway) Bassham.

Ruthie married Orvilee Harris on September 18, 1954, in West Plains, Missouri. Ruthie worked at various jobs but spent most of her time as a farmer with her husband. Ruthie loved her husband, family, bluegrass gospel music, and working puzzle books. She also enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Arkansas Razorbacks. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend, and was a member of the Stateline Freewill Baptist Church in Moko, Arkansas.

Ruthie is survived by three sons, Ronnie Harris and wife Sandra of Maumelle, Arkansas, Ray Harris and wife Ellen of Jordan, Arkansas, and Bobby Harris and wife Donna of Bryant, Arkansas; three grandsons, Zachary Harris and wife Katie of Jordan, Arkansas, Ezekiel Harris and wife Erin of Germantown, Tennessee, and Zane Harris and wife Rebecca of Mountain Home, Arkansas; four great grandchildren, Ezzie Ruth Harris, Charlotte Ray Harris, Maizie Kay Harris, and Lane Harris; special friends, Eva Davis, Johnny Davis, Gene McBroom, Carol McBroom, Theresa McBride, Bertha Thornton, Beth Yarnell, Tena Hart, and the rest of her coworkers; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband (Orvilee Harris), parents, sister (May Bassham), and seven brothers (Jim, Odell, Talmadge, Edwin, Roy, Archie, and Thomas).

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges and Bobby Harris officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time-of-service Saturday, December 30, 2023. The interment will be in the Stateline Cemetery in Moko, Arkansas. The pallbearers will be Ronnie Harris, Ray Harris, Bobby Harris, Zachary Harris, Ezekiel Harris, and Zane Harris. Memorials may be made to the Stateline Cemetery Association in Moko, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
