Thomas Lee Duckett, 60, of Mountain View, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on November 12, 1961, in Troy, Missouri, the son of Roy and Bonnie (Sublette) Duckett.
Thomas was united in marriage to Carolyn Whitlock on January 25, 1986, in West Plains, Missouri, and together they had five children.
He is preceded in death by one grandson, Mason Duckett (Holdt).
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Carolyn; parents, Roy and Bonnie Duckett of Montgomery City, MO; three sons, Wes Duckett and wife, Alex of West Plains, MO, Josh Duckett and wife, Alicia of Mountain View, MO, and Bryant Duckett and wife, Kasha of Ozark, MO; two daughters, Christina Duckett of Vandalia, MO, and Shawna Carkhuff and husband, Tobby of Mountain View, MO; two brothers, Mitch Duckett and wife, Kim of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Jerry Duckett and wife, Lori of Winfield, MO; one sister, Cherie Gildehaus and husband, Mick of Warrenton, MO; he loved his sixteen grandchildren, Aiden Duckett, Jaime Casiano, Kyle Duckett, Kaylee Casiano, Landen Volner, Maria Casiano, Cordaya Duckett, Brinley Duckett, Allyssa Duckett, Joie Duckett, Barrett Duckett, Desley Barton, Emma Carkhuff, Carrie Duckett, Emmet Carkhuff, and Madison Duckett; one brother-in-law, Gary Whitlock and wife, Pam of Mountain View, MO; two sisters-in-law, Linda Dollins and husband, Holly of Kennett, MO, and Shirley White and husband, Ed of Rolla, MO; many nieces and nephews that he loved very much; close friends, Roy and Linda Pierce who he thought of as family; and many friends and co-workers that he cherished and treated as family. He did not know a stranger.
Tom loved being outside on his tractor, 4-wheeler, or doing whatever he could find to do outside. Tom especially loved feeding and watching animals. He couldn’t sit still for very long, he had to be working or tinkering with something. The kids always said, “if Dad couldn’t fix it, no one could.” He loved family gatherings and would work all day to make sure everything was perfect before everyone arrived. Tom loved his grandkids, family, and friends and he will be dearly missed.
Services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with Mick Gildehaus officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
