Veda Pauline Bushong, 95 years, 11 months, 25 days old, passed peacefully to her heavenly home on January 2, 2023 at her home with her family by her side.
Veda was born January 5, 1927 in Ozark County, MO to George Washington and Maggie Lene (Hicks) Pool.
On October 25, 1952 Veda and Bentley Doyle Bushong were united in marriage at Mtn. Home, AR and to this union they were blessed with four children.
Veda was a Homemaker. She wrote the County Line News Column for the Douglas County Herald for 58 years! She enjoyed bluegrass music, playing pitch, embroidering, doing puzzles and was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
She was a Christian and believed in her Savior. Her biggest and grandest joy were her grand and great grandchildren!
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bentley; her son, Danny Bushong; granddaughter Tracy Jo Reed; great granddaughter Stephanie Kay Rowe; her nine siblings, Hazel Bushong, Gene Pool, “Buck” Pool, Glen Pool, Benny Pool, Midge Berry, Irene Strong, Juanita Kazenske and Jo Stephens.
Veda is survived by her children; Debbie & Johnnie Reed, Donna & David Dodson and Diana & Butch Davis;13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and one great grandchild on-the-way; two great great grandkids on-the-way, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Veda will be Friday, January 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Eaton Cemetery near Drury, MO. Visitation will be prior to the service on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to service time. Officiating will be Brother Max Stephens and Pastor Joshua Strong. Family requests memorials made to Eaton Cemetery.
