Vineta Jean Ratterree, daughter of the late Ervin and Anna Mae Davis, was born July 5, 1940, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and passed away August 28, 2023, in Springfield, Missouri. She was 83 years of age.
Vineta grew up north of Mountain Grove and attended Brushy Knob School. She was united in marriage to Clarence Ratterree on October 13, 1956. Two daughters were born to this union.
Vineta worked alongside Clarence on their farm and also worked at HD Lee factory for many years. She loved spending time with family and friends and loving on her little dogs.
She loved her gardens and canning all that they grew. She also loved making quilts and collecting quilt patterns and material scraps to make into quilts. Vineta also loved going to yard sales.
Vineta was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clarence.
She is survived by two daughters, Violet Fry of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Vicky Warthen and husband, Norman, of Licking, Missouri; two grandsons, Jeremiah Fry and wife, Katherine, and Aaron Fry; eight great-grandchildren, James, Christopher, Hunter, Zachary, Jade, Joey, Bradley, and Weston; numerous cousins and friends who will greatly miss her.
