Shirley Louise Cockman, 77, of Gainesville, MO was a darling wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on August 29, 2023 at her residence. She was born on June 29, 1946 in Couch, MO to Herbert Jake Summers and Edith Mary (Bates) Summers.
Shirley married her husband Larry Keith Cockman on March 7, 1964 at the Cave Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Together they had 3 children. She was loved and will be dearly missed by all.
Shirley is survived by two daughters Patricia Faye Britt and husband Dean of Gainesville, MO, Lavonda Renee Hardwick of Southfork, MO, one son Leland Keith Cockman and wife Rachel of Baker City, Oregon; three grandchildren Randy Keith Britt and wife Shantel, Crystal Nicole Thayer and husband Bradley, Kelsey Marie Hardwick; six great grandchildren Levie Britt, Johni Thayer, Lane Tackitt, Jaxon Britt, Paisley Tackitt, and Saylor Thayer; two sisters Ella May Oakes and Ines Jean Hall; one brother Mark Anderson Summers; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her mother and father; one brother James Lee Summers; and two sisters Mary Evelyn Todd and Emmer Elizabeth Summers.
The family is planning a celebration of life at a later date. Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
