Wanda Lee (Colbert) Myers, a resident of Willow Springs, MO passed away at her home Thursday, July 20, 2023. She was born September 19, 1942, in West Plains, MO to Leon and Bessie (Carrell) Colbert and was 80 years old.
Wanda graduated from West Plains High School and found work at the Conway-Winter Shoe Factory as a stitcher. She married the love of her life George Myers on August 28, 1965, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Willow Springs, a church she has faithfully attended for many years. She loved to drag race against men and has won many trophies. In her free time, she enjoyed being a part of the Active Older Adults program at the YMCA, volunteering at the Willow Care Nursing Home doing arts and crafts, attending catholic Mass with her church family, watching Western movies, especially “Gunsmoke”, Rock and Roll swing dancing, listening to Elvis Presley, and spending time with her pets. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Bessie; her brother, James Linthicum; and her sister, Gladys Smith.
She is survived by her husband, George Myers; her son, George Allen Myers; her daughter, Michele Lee Myers; her brothers, Bill and Kenneth Linthicum; her sister, Barbara Thomas; her granddaughter, Kayla Myers; her beloved pet, Bear; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friend, Betty Murphy.
The family requests that any memorials be written in Wanda’s name to the Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Rosary will be held at 5:00 P.M. till 5:30 P.M. Monday July 24, 2023, and Visitation will be held from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Willow Funeral Home, LLC. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Joseph Stoverink officiating. Interment will be held following the service at the Willow Springs City Cemetery.
