Zelda Lee Boland, 85, of Thornfield, MO passed away April 11, 2023, at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. She was born July 24, 1937, in Kaskaskia, IL to Floyd and Pearl (Cassout) Abell.
On September 11, 1955, Zelda was united in marriage to Glen Boland at the St. Mary’s Baptist Church in St. Mary’s, Missouri.
Zelda had a fondness for animals, especially her little dog Lily. She enjoyed hunting for antiques and decorating the house with her treasures. Zelda loved reading, embroidery, and working in her garden. The holidays were a special time for Zelda, particularly Christmas, where she liked to surround herself with family and friends. She was also an active member in the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Zelda will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Zelda is survived by her husband Glen Boland of Gainesville, MO, brother James Abell and wife Karen of Las Vegas, NV, sister-in-law Genevieve Abell of Fenton, MO, two daughters Tammy Massel of Gainesville, MO, Mary Olson and husband Robert of Two Rivers, WI. Grandchildren Glenn Olson and wife Ashley of Springfield, MO, Amy Olson of Oakland, CA, Jason Massel and fiancé Kendra of Ponchatoula, LA, and Cody Goodwin and wife Brittany of Gainesville, MO. Great grandchildren Hailey and Finely Olson, Logan Massel, Able, Tyler and Ethan Goodwin, and MaKenzie Massel, on the way. Beloved pet Lily and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brother Warren Abell, sister Ilene and husband Vince Blanford, and sister Leoza and husband Dorsey Crow.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Wasola, MO.
