The Cardinals aren’t losing Adam Wainwright to retirement after all. St. Louis team president John Mozeliak announced yesterday that the right-hander informed the team he will be returning for the 2023 season. Wainwright added that it will be his final season in MLB. Wainwright signed a one-year, 17.5-million dollar contract with the Cardinals last season and posted an 11-and-12 record with a 3.71 ERA through 32 starts. The 41-year-old is just five wins away from reaching 200 career victories on the mound.
