The Cardinals gave up five runs in the top of the eighth inning during a 10-7 loss to the Houston Astros at Busch Stadium. Nolan Arenado, Paul Goldschmidt, and Brendan Donovan all went deep to give St. Louis a 7-5 lead heading into the eighth before Giovanny Gallegos gave up all five runs in the inning. Gallegos was charged with his fourth loss in relief. The Cardinals remain in last place in the NL Central at 33-and-46. Adam Wainwright starts for St. Louis against Houston tonight.
