Royals pitchers got lit up for 14 hits during a 14-1 loss to the Cleveland Guardians at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals gave up four runs in the third inning and trailed for the rest of the game. They also surrendered seven runs in the top of sixth to put the game away. Freddy Fermin drove in the Royals only run, and Austin Cox was charged with his first loss after surrendering four runs in three-and-two-thirds innings. The Royals remain in last place in the AL Central at 22-and-58. Zack Greinke starts for against Cleveland this afternoon.
