The Willow Springs Bears welcomed the Cabools Bulldogs to town Tuesday night. It was Sneior Night for the Bears. During the first quarter it was a back and forth scoring affair, however, it was rather low scoring. Willow Springs led 13-12 after one quarter.
The back and forth scoring continued in the second quarter. Cabool however was able to build a consistent 4 point lead during the quarter. The Bears struggled to get into a rhtyhm on offense in the second quarter. Cabool led at halftime 30-23.
Cabool gained an eight point advantage for a small amount of time. The Bears fought back by playing stifling defense and getting into an offensive rhythm. Willow Springs got within one point of the lead but, could not grab it before the end of the quarter. Cabool led 42-40 after three.
The teams traded baskets almost each time down the court to start the fourth quarter. The biggest lead either team could gain was two points. During the last three minutes, the scoring slowed and the teams remained tied at 52 for most of that time.The Bears were able to squeak out a victory, 55-53.
The Bears are now (11-14) on the season. Willow Spirngs will visit the Houston Tigers on Friday night.
