The Cardinals fell to the division-leading Brewers 8-2 at Busch Stadium yesterday. St. Louis surrendered three runs in the top of the first and trailed for the rest of the game. Zack Thompson was charged with his seventh loss after giving up four runs on five hits in five innings. Paul Goldschmidt and Richie Palacios both drove in a run in the losing effort. The Cards are in fifth-place in the NL Central at 67-and-85. Miles Mikolas starts for St. Louis against the Brewers today.
