Cardinals 3, Padres 0

The Cardinals shut out the Padres 3-0 to open their series in St. Louis. Dustin May threw a complete game shutout for his fifth victory of the season. He struck out nine batters while allowing just one hit. Jimmy Crooks drove in two runs in the victory. St. Louis has won two of its last three games. The Cardinals are still in second place in the NL Central at 39-31. Andre Pallante starts for St. Louis against the Padres tonight.
