Cardinals 6, Nationals 5

The Cardinals scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Nationals 6-5 at Busch Stadium. Tommy Edman hit a two-run walk-off double to end the game after St. Louis trailed 5-1 entering the frame. Paul Goldschmidt hit his 35th home run of the season, and Jake Woodford picked up his fourth win in relief. The Cardinals improve to 81-and-56, and they lead the NL Central by nine-and-a-half games over Milwaukee. Adam Wainwright starts for the Cardinals against Washington today.
