Nolan Gorman hit his 18th home run of the season to lead the St. Louis Cardinals over the Washington Nationals 8-4 at Busch Stadium. Gorman finished the day 3-for-5 with two RBI and a pair of runs scored as the Cardinals picked up the series win. Paul Goldschmidt hit his 16th homer of the year in the win. St. Louis starter Jack Flaherty notched his fourth straight win with a seven-strikeout performance through six frames. The Cards have won five of seven to improve to 40-and-53.
Cardinals host the Marlins Monday.
