Cardinals and Royals final scores

The Royals had their three-game win streak come to an end. Kansas City lost to the Minnesota Twins 4-0 at Kauffman Stadium. The team was limited to three hits and went 0-for-2 with a runner in scoring position. Starting pitcher Seth Lugo was charged with the loss as the Royals fell to 6-and-6. They close out their four-game series against the Twins this afternoon.

The St. Louis Cardinals came out on the wrong end of a pitchers’ duel during a 2-1, 13-inning loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park yesterday. The game was scoreless for the first 11 innings before Jordan Walker hit an RBI single in the top of the 12th. However, Pittsburgh tied the game in the next half-inning and earned the win in the 13th. Chris Roycroft was charged with the loss in relief. Erik Fedde threw six no-hit innings for the Cardinals. The 5-and-7 Cardinals are back in action against the Phillies tomorrow night.
