Cardinals and Royals final scores from last night

The Royals were shut out on the road. Kansas City lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 5-0 at American Family Field. The Royals were limited to four hits and were 0-for-5 with a runner in scoring position. Starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen was tagged with the loss pitching 5 1/3 innings and allowing three runs. The Royals are now 2-and-3. They close out their series against Milwaukee this afternoon.

The St. Louis Cardinals surrendered three runs in the top of the 11th inning during a 9-7 loss to the Los Angeles Angels at Busch Stadium. The game was tied at six when the Cardinals loaded the bases with one out in the tenth, but Jordan Walker and Ivan Herrera weren’t able to bring home the game-winning run. Walker homered in the losing effort, while Chris Roycroft was charged with the loss in relief. The 3-and-2 Cardinals send Sonny Gray to the mound against Los Angeles this afternoon.
