It was a rough day for the Cardinals, who were swept in a doubleheader by the Brewers. After a 4-3 loss in the opener, St. Louis watched the nightcap slip away in the seventh inning. Reliever Jared Shuster gave up a leadoff home run, then allowed two more hits and two walks before being pulled. Milwaukee exploded for seven runs in the inning and went on to a 10-2 win. The Cardinals have now surrendered 12 of the Brewers’ 18 runs in the series during the seventh inning. Cardinals closer Riley O’Brien has been added to the All-Star roster, replacing pitchers Jacob Misiorowski and Paul Skenes, who are both scheduled to pitch on Sunday.
