The Cardinals finished in last place in the NL Central for the first time since 1990 with their 71-91 record. St. Louis and the L.A. Dodgers are the only two NL teams that have had only two seasons since 1990 with 90 or more losses.

Fans who have been used to consistency and playoff baseball were frustrated by the poor results. The Cardinals will need to address starting pitching this offseason and position players will look for more consistency at the plate.
