The Royals produced one of the worst seasons in franchise history. KC finished 56-106 and tied the club record for most losses in a single season. There were a few highlights but several more areas that needed improvement.
KC saw positive results from midseason trades. SP Cole Ragans was named American League Pitcher of the Month for August. OF Nelson Velázquez added 14 homers in 40 games.

Bobby Witt posted career numbers across the board: 30 home runs, 49 stolen bases, 96 RBIs and 97 runs scored.
