BALTIMORE – University of Missouri quarterback Brady Cook has been selected to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Top 25 List, the organization announced.
Cook is one of just seven SEC quarterbacks to make the pared-down list from their original 2024 watch list that recognizes the top senior quarterback in the country.
In 34 career games (27 starts), Cook has completed 649-of-982 (.661) passes for 7,603 yards with 43 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Additionally, he owns a career pass efficiency rating of 142.7. The St. Louis, Missouri, native has recorded 105-of-165 pass attempts for 1,132 yards in Mizzou’s opening five games with five touchdowns against just one interception. Cook posted a season-high 264 yards on 21-of-30 passing with one touchdown against Boston College earlier this season.
The namesake of the Golden Arm Award has a storied history. Johnny Unitas was an 18-year veteran of the NFL, who played his collegiate career at the University of Louisville before joining the Baltimore Colts in 1958. His career passing figures include 2,830 pass completions for 40,239 yards, 290 touchdowns and throwing a touchdown pass in 47 consecutive games.
This year’s award winner will be presented the Golden Arm Award trophy at the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award celebration the Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland, on Friday, December 6, 2024.
