Yankees 3, Royals 2

Kansas City lost to the New York Yankees 3-2 in Game Three of the best-of-five series at Kauffman Stadium. Kyle Isbel and Michael Massey each had an RBI in the setback. Kris Bubic was charged with the loss after he let up a go-ahead solo home run to New York’s Giancarlo Stanton in the eighth inning. The Royals trail the series 2-1 heading into Game Four tonight. Right-hander Michael Wacha is scheduled to start opposite New York righty Gerrit Cole.

Entering this season, there have been 62 instances in postseason history of a best-of-5 series being tied at 1-1, according to Elias…the team that won Game 3 has won the series 45 times (72.3%)…that means 17 times out of 62 (27.4%), the team that lost Game 3 after being tied in a best-of-5 postseason series has come back to win, something the Royals have done once before, in the 2015 American League Division Series vs. Houston
