Eagles plow through the Couch Indians on night of Hoop-Queen with a 74-35 win

The Liberty Eagles Boys Basketball team resumed play off the heals of their victory in the Final game of the Legends Shootout versus Marshfield on Saturday night. This time facing the 11-10, Couch Indians. Eagles had a great night with rebounds and three point shooting, taking a 74-35 victory on the night of Courtwarming.

Summary:

1st Quarter: Lance Morey tips the ball for the Couch Indians and is controlled by the Liberty Eagles. Parker Tune tries for a three but falls short. Indians go with it trading a few passes, turned over and Tune shoots the left hander as his first points in the game. Morey with the first bucket for the Indians and both teams are tied 2-2. Stolen back for a three by Gavin Reese and turned back over. Caden Massey with the next bucket for the Couch Indians both teams have an equal amount of turnovers as it’s a 6-4 ballgame with under three minutes to go. Another three pointer by Alex tune makes it 9-4. Given back to Couch but a foul call and Parker Tune shoots two free throws. First three pointer of the game by Dylan Larsen for the Couch Indians. Alex Tune with another two pointer for the Liberty Eagles. Rebound by the Couch Indians but taken back by Alex for a good three pointer as the Eagles now have an 18-9 lead at the end of the quarter.

 

2nd Quarter: Hunter Roberts scores his first points at the line for the Couch Indians. Ball goes  back to the Eagles as Gavin Reese tries for a three which is no good, but rebounded by Draydon Wells. The seventh turnover made by the Couch Indians as the Eagles continue to dominate on defense. Landon Hines scores his first points of the game for Liberty with a nice slam for two points. Rebound by The Indians and shot up and good by Bradley Frabrizio. With 4:30 to go in the Half; Eagles continue to lead by ten, 22-12. Dylan Larsen makes his second three of the game for the Indians, but answered by the Eagles with a Three pointer by Gavin Reese. And the third three pointer by Alex Tune as the Eagles have now jumped out by thirteen, 30-17. Couch takes it back, trying to attempt a pass but another steal by Alex as he tries for another three, doesn’t make it but completes it at the line. Eagles go up five more as they end up forcing Couch into a twelvth turnover with another shot by Alex’s brother Parker and a nice two point play by Brayden Mays. 

HALFTIME- Liberty Eagles: 37/ Couch Indians: 20

3rd Quarter: Liberty Eagles will have the ball to start the second half. Gavin Reese with his second three pointer of the game as the first play. Repeated once again as Couch Turns it over, the second three pointer makes it a 43-22 ballgame. Rebound Couch Indians but turnover over again and a three pointer by Alex Tune. Another three followed by Parker Tune as the Eagles are on fire from the three point line. Couch has yet to score a point in the Game with five minutes left. Draydon Wells makes his sixth point of the game with the lead increasing to thirty one, 53-22. Finally, a point scored by Roberts on a two pointer for the Couch Indians. Stolen back by Parker Tune who answers back with his own two pointer. Caden Massey with his sixth point of the game as Couch is starting to pick up on Liberty’s use of the dribble drive and finding a way to stay open. Eagles still continue to let up as Parker Tune scores from the volleyball. Rebound by Alex with another two pointer on top of that. A foul call and Bradley Fabrizio  shoots two, one free throw is good but the other rolls around and falls back. Ball will go back to the Liberty Eagles, stolen by Lance Morey for the Couch Indians and a foul call will send him to the line. Morey makes 1-2 out of two at the line. Shot out of the buzzer is good by Tytus Jester and the Eagles hold the lead 67-20 at the end of the Quarter. 

4th Quarter: Liberty Eagle defense briefly falls apart a bit to start the Quarter as there are at least three steals and two buckets a piece for Morey and Larsen. Brian Thompson comes in for the Eagles with some rebounds and a good three brings the ballgame back into sync. A low lie and drive by Caden Massey as well as a bucket by Kendrick Williams for the Indians who are now putting some more numbers on the board. Eagles are able to keep a hold of it, as they end up outsourcing the Couch Indians by a Final Score of 74-35.
