The Rangers won the rubber game against the Royals with a 3-2 victory in 10 innings at Kauffman Stadium. Jon Gray got the start and struck out seven while allowing two runs over seven innings. Kirby Yates was credited with his third win of the season after striking out two over a couple of scoreless innings of relief. Nathaniel Lowe drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the top of the 10th. Daniel Lynch made his first start for the Royals throwing five scoreless innings. James McArthur suffered the loss after allowing two runs, one of them earned, over two innings of relief. Kansas City dropped to 20-and-15.

 

Class one district 4 high school softball round two of district play weather permitting Plato vs Mansfield, and Fordland vs Summersville games will be played at Mansfield weather permitting.  Class 2 district 3 Licking vs Potosi and the winner will play Houston in the next round of district play. Class 2 district 4 Ava vs Mountain Grove and Willow Springs vs Thayer games will be played at Mountain Grove weather permitting.

 

The 18 annual TCMH Health Care Foundation 2-person 18-hole golf scramble will be held at Houston Municipal Golf Course Saturday, June 8th.  $120 Per Team and fee Includes Cart, Greens Fees & Lunch Tee Times: 8 am & 1 pm to sign a team up or for more information call TCMH Healthcare Foundation President, Jeff Gettys 417-967-1377.

 

The Willow Springs Bears Golf Team won a district championship with a team score of 322. Brady Altermatt was medalist and all district with a score of 75, Blayne Altermatt was 2nd with a score of 76 and Noah Leslie was 4th with a score of 80 and also both were all district. Alex Moritz and Marc Prough also qualified for the state tournament, so all five Willow Springs Bears will play in the state tournament May 13th and 14th.
