The Cardinals lost to the Giants 2-1. St. Louis loaded the bases with two outs in the eighth after a dropped third strike, but Joshua Baez couldn’t come through. The Cards got one in the ninth and had the tying run at second, but couldn’t bring him home. Thomas Saggese extended his hitting streak to nine games and Masyn Winn returned to the lineup and went 0-for-4.
