WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Whatever offensive struggles the Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Basketball team had Sunday at the Missouri/Illinois Challenge disappeared by Tuesday evening.
The Grizzlies (6-8) went on a scoring spree to down Tennessee Prep from Memphis 97-55 in Joe Paul Evans Arena at the West Plains Civic Center.
Freshman guard Kevon Eskridge led the way with 17 points, followed by freshman guard Isaiah Lewis with 16 and sophomore forward Mo Kora with 12. Sophomore guards Reese Dodson and Christian Robbins and freshman forward Dallas Clayton all came off the bench and contributed 10 points a piece.
“It was good to see us hit some shots,” Grizzly Basketball Head Coach Jared Phay said. “Kevon, in particular, shot the ball well.
“It was also good to see us move the ball and find the open guy,” he added. “We played very unselfish last night, and it’s something we can build on.”
The Grizzlies return to the road this weekend to compete in the Hy-Vee Classic at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa. They will face Northeast Community College at 4:30 p.m. Friday and Lake Region State College at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Grizzlies will close out the fall semester at home Dec. 16 with a 7 p.m. contest against United Prep.
