COLUMBIA, Mo. – A variety of media outlets released additional postseason awards on Wednesday. Among those recognized were University of Missouri football student-athletes Tyler Badie, Michael Maietti and Harrison Mevis.
Mevis was named to The Athletic and Action Network’s first-team All-America lists. Badie is a CBS Sports / 247 Sports second-team All-American. All three were named to the Associated Press All-SEC Team with Badie earning unanimous selection.
Badie set a new school record for single-season rushing yards (1,604). His final rushing touchdown of the regular season was his 14th and the 23rd of his career – good for ninth on Mizzou’s single season and career top-10 lists.
A 55-game career starter at center, Maietti anchors the offensive line that blocks for Badie, who leads the SEC in rushing attempts (268), yards (1,604), touchdowns (18) and yards per game (133.7). In 2021, 14 players scored a total of 39 touchdowns to bolster Mizzou’s offense.
Mevis hit a career-long 56-yard boot to send the game to overtime at Boston College. He is now 3-for-3 on the season and 6-for-7 in his career from beyond 50 yards. On the season, Mevis is 20-of-22 in field goals, including 11-of-13 from 40-49.
Earlier this week, the trio was also listed on the Coaches’ and USA TODAY All-SEC Teams. Badie is the 2021 SEC Football Scholar-Athlete and was also named to the league’s Community Service Team.
Mizzou football has accepted an invitation to play in the 2021 Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas. The Tigers will face Army West Point on Dec. 22 (7 p.m. kick, ESPN) at TCU’s Amon G. Carter Stadium.
