Houston Wins Third in a Row

Houston traveled for the first time this year, visiting Cabool. The game started with both defenses being on display. Cabool had consecutive 15 yard penalties to stall one of their offensive possessions in the first quarter. Houston used a balanced attack on their second drive and it paid off. Houston scored and lead 7-0 after the first quarter.

The second quarter saw much of the same. Cabool and Houston both played well defensively. Houston continued using a balanced attack and scored once again. The extra point was unsuccessful, so Houston lead 13-0. Cabool looked like they were going to score near the end of the first half. The Houston defense, had a different idea, however. Th quarter ended with a goal line stand by the Houston defense. The teams headed into the locker room with the score 13-0, Houston.

Cabool started the second half by attempting an onside kick, recovered by Houston. The third quarter saw the defenses shine again. Neither offense found the end zone.

Defense continued to be the story of the game in the fourth quarter. However, with about five minutes left in the final quarter, Cabool scored their first touchdown of the game. A two point conversion was attempted, but unsuccessful, so Houston lead 13-6. Cabool again attempted an onside kick, this time it was recovered by the Bulldogs. Cabool scored quickly, running the ball extremely well. The Bulldogs attempted another two point conversion, and were unsuccessful again. Houston lead 13-12. Houston received the kickoff and ran the clock out once Cabool used their timeouts. Houston wins a close one, 13-12. They are 3-1 on the season.
