The St. Louis Cardinals got rocked during a 15-2 loss to the Miami Marlins at Loan Depot Park. The Cardinals gave up 19 hits in the losing effort and didn’t score until the top of the ninth inning. Adam Wainwright was charged with his fourth loss after allowing four earned runs and three unearned runs on seven hits in three-and-a-third innings.
Wainwright was placed on the 15-day injured list after the start. The Cardinals bullpen didn’t fare much better, and James Naile was tagged for eight runs in just an inning-and-a-third in relief. St. Louis remains in last place in the NL Central at 35-and-50. The Cardinals take on the Marlins once again tonight.
