The Royals failed to pull out a win in the first game of their road trip. Kansas City lost to the Miami Marlins 9-6 at LoanDepot Park in Miami. Kansas City reliever Mike Mayers was charged his first loss of the year after letting up seven runs, six earned, through three innings. Nick Pratto belted his fourth home run of the season as the Royals fell to 18-and-42. They will send right-hander Zack Greinke to the hill for the start against Miami tonight.
