The Cardinals couldn’t finish off a two-run comeback during a 4-3 loss to the Rangers in Texas. The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second before giving up three runs in the next half-inning. In the top of the eighth, St. Louis tied the game with a sacrifice fly from Paul Goldschmidt and an RBI double by Nolan Arenado. However, Nathaniel Lowe hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to give Texas the win. Genesis Cabrera was charged with his first loss in relief. The Cardinals remain in last place in the NL Central at 25-and-36. Matthew Liberatore starts for St. Louis against the Rangers tonight.
