The 9th-ranked Missouri Tigers improved to 2-0 with a 38-0 victory over the Buffalo Bulls. Quarterback Brady Cook led the charge, amassing 290 yards of offense and scoring two touchdowns while setting a new career passing mark. The Tigers’ defense was impressive, securing their second consecutive shutout and extending their home non-conference winning streak to 18 games, dating back to 2017.
Cook’s performance highlighted Missouri’s offensive efficiency, completing 28 of 36 passes and rushing for two touchdowns, including a career-long 31-yard scamper. Receiver Theo Wease Jr. had a career-best 13 receptions for 149 yards. Defensively, the Tigers stifled Buffalo, limiting them to a mere 169 total yards and forcing several key turnovers, including Marvin Burks Jr.’s interception.
The last time Missouri had back-to-back shutouts at any point in a season was 1966 (at Kansas State, Oklahoma). The Tigers have not allowed a TD in 12 quarters … 165 minutes, 48 seconds – since last year’s fourth quarter of the Arkansas game. And Missouri has not allowed a point in 11 straight quarters — the longest streak since the 1941 team went 16 quarters without allowing a point.
The Tigers are home next Saturday against Boston College.
