COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri fans will have their first opportunity to see the 2022-23 men’s and women’s basketball teams in person as Mizzou Madness makes its return to campus. The kickoff event is back and better than ever with a new location, new entertainment and more!
Mizzou Madness will take place Friday, Sept. 30, beginning at 8 p.m. Hosted in partnership with the University of Missouri campus, a basketball court will be placed on the Francis Quadrangle in front of the historic Columns and Jesse Hall.
Both men’s and women’s basketball teams will be introduced and participate in interactive games with members of the audience. Additionally, the event will have a live DJ, interactive games, food vendors and a laser show.
“We are embracing a spirit of innovation to provide our fans this first of its kind way to be introduced to our basketball teams,” said Director of Athletics Desiree Reed-Francois. “This, along with our football game versus Georgia on Saturday, is another great reason for our fans to come to Columbia for the weekend. I applaud Coach Gates and Coach Pingeton for their vision to work with our staff to make this event a reality.”
The event is free to attend and open to all students and fans. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Mizzou Arena.
