COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Baseball Head Coach Kerrick Jackson finalized his 2025 coaching staff Friday, announcing internal promotions for Jose Carballo and Anthony Hansen, as well as the addition of Hampton Hudson as the Tigers’ new graduate assistant.
Jackson, who begins his second season at the helm for Mizzou, promoted Carballo to the role of director of recruiting and operations, while tapping Hansen for the Tigers’ director of player personnel position for the 2025 season.
Entering his second year at Mizzou, Carballo will coordinate the Tigers’ recruiting efforts, while also managing the day-to-day operations of the program in his new role. Carballo joined the Mizzou staff as director of player personnel in August 2023, after completing a five-year stint on the coaching staff of his alma mater, Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Cataño, Puerto Rico native served as the Wildcats’ hitting coach, working primarily with B-CU’s infielders and catchers before making the move to Columbia last summer.
Hansen, a Columbia native, will also begin his second season on the Tigers’ staff in 2024-25 after filling the role of graduate assistant last year. A collegiate standout on the diamond at both William Jewell and Memphis, Hansen will help Carballo with the oversight of the program’s day-to-day operations and game day logistics, while also serving as the Tigers’ campus liaison and assisting with the administration of Mizzou’s camps, special events and recruiting efforts.
Hudson will step into Hansen’s former position as the Tigers’ graduate assistant after gaining experience as a sports performance coach over the last two years. He has trained youth, collegiate and professional athletes, in addition to working with The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, La., as a strength and conditioning coach for baseball, basketball and football. Additionally, Hudson has assisted the Traction Canes travel ball organization, coaching both youth and high school national teams.
A native of Baton Rouge, Hudson completed a four-year collegiate playing career at hometown Southern University (2016-20), including two seasons under the tutelage of Jackson as his head coach. His best year as a Jaguar came in 2019, when he batted .295 with 31 RBIs and 17 steals to help Southern to a 32-win season, a SWAC championship and an NCAA Regional appearance. Hudson earned his bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation from Southern in 2020.
