Mizzou Softball Super Regional preview vs Duke

Mizzou Softball hosting Duke in Super Regionals this Friday at one. The Tigers are one of seven teams from the SEC to make up the 16-team Super Regional field, the next conference is the Big 12 with four, but two of those schools, Texas and Oklahoma join the SEC next season. Over half the field is made up of essentially one conference’s teams.

The Tigers advanced the hard way. After opening with a loss to Omaha on Friday 3-1 in nine innings, Mizzou beat Indiana and Washington on Saturday. On Sunday the Tigers rallied to score five in the seventh against Omaha in the first game, then won 1-0 in nine innings to finish off Omaha.

Laurin Krings started all four games for the Tigers, she struck out 15 in the 9-inning clinching game and threw a total of 400 pitches in 24 hours.

The 7th-seeded Tigers will take on 10th-seeded Duke in game one of the best of three on Friday at one on ESPN2.
