Mizzou will honor 1960 at National Champs

Mizzou is officially recognizing the 1960 Tigers as national champions. The decision follows a unanimous vote by the U.S. Senate recognizing that team’s accomplishments. The Tigers went 11-and-0 under legendary coach Dan Devine, won the Big Eight and beat Navy in the Orange Bowl. Mizzou says the Poling System, an NCAA-recognized selector, named Missouri its 1960 national champion. The Tigers will be honored at halftime on September 19th against Troy. The NCAA recognizes Minnesota and Ole Miss as co-national champions of 1960. The Tigers kick off the season Thursday night against Arkansas Pine Bluff.
