BOSTON — Missouri State sophomore Isiaih Mosley (G, Columbia, Mo.) was announced late Tuesday (Jan. 26) as one of 40 NCAA Division I players on the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List.
The Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award is presented annually to the top mid-major player in Division I college basketball and honors the former New Mexico State and Illinois head coach who won 775 games in 41 seasons.
One of just two sophomore players on this year’s list, Mosley leads the Missouri Valley Conference and ranks second nationally in scoring at 22.9 points per game. He is joined by fellow MVC players Elijah Childs of Bradley, Cameron Krutwig of Loyola, and Roman Penn of Drake.
In addition to being a two-time MVC Player of the Week this season, Mosley currently ranks third on the Kenpom.com offensive player rankings chart that uses a variety of offensive metrics to rank all Division I players. He is also among the MVC leaders in free throw percentage (3rd), rebounding (7th) and minutes played (7th).
The recipient of the 2021 Lou Henson Award will be announced in April.
The Bears (9-2) return to action this evening against Drake in an 8 p.m. rematch at JQH Arena. Tickets for tonight’s game are available at MissouriStateBears.com or by visiting the Old Missouri Bank Box Office at JQH Arena, (417) 836-7678.
