Pirates 8, Cardinals 4

The St. Louis Cardinals surrendered four runs in the bottom of the seventh during an 8-4 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park yesterday. The Cardinals trailed by two runs entering the inning before Pittsburgh blew the game open. Yohel (Joe-el) Pozo and Masyn Winn both homered in the losing effort, while Matthew Liberatore was charged with his first loss after allowing five runs on eight hits in six-and-a-third innings. The Cardinals dropped to 4-and-6. They send Sonny Gray to the mound against Pittsburgh tonight.
