Reds 6, Cardinals 3

The Reds are opening the unofficial second half of the season with a series victory over the Cardinals.  Cincinnati topped St. Louis 6-3 in the series finale.  Tyler Mahle picked up his fourth win of the year after holding the Cards to three runs over six innings pitched.  Joey Votto went deep for the eighth time on the season after slugging a three-run homer.  Miles Mikolas was tagged with the loss after allowing six runs over five innings of work.  Paul Goldschmidt slugged a pair of home runs to provide all three of the Cardinals’ runs.  St. Louis is now 51-and-46 while Cincinnati improved its record to 36-and-58.
