The Royals notched their first win of the season. Kansas City downed the visiting Toronto Blue Jays 9-5 at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals jumped out to a 7-0 lead through four innings and held on for the victory. MJ Melendez went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and a pair of runs scored. Bobby Witt Jr. and Nicky Lopez also drove-in two runs at the plate. Brady Singer earned the win on the mound after allowing one run and striking out three over five innings. The Royals are now 1-and-3 heading into another matchup with Toronto tonight. The Royals are sending southpaw Kris Bubic to the hill.
