The Royals are not planning to increase their budget for next season. Kansas City general manager J.J. Picollo expects to have a similar budget to last year following a trip to the AL Division Series. Picollo said that the team is looking for a player to get on base at the top of the lineup and another strong bat in the middle of the order. The Royals were some of the biggest spenders in free agency last year, adding starting pitchers Seth Lugo and Michael Wacha.
