Royals sweep doubleheader over Guardians

The Royals got greedy and won both games of their doubleheader against the Guardians from Cleveland. Bobby Witt Jr. slugged a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning to secure a 4-3 victory in Game One. Kansas City carried momentum into Game Two where Salvador Perez blasted a grand slam to go with a solo homer and another RBI for a 9-4 win. The Royals have won back-to-back games and are just one game behind the Guardians for first place in the AL Central at 74-and-58. They visit the Guardians again this evening. Right-hander Michael Lorenzen is slated to start opposite Cleveland righty Gavin Williams.
