Softball Drops Sunday Doubleheader at No. 19/21 Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. – University of Missouri softball dropped its Southeastern Conference doubleheader at No. 19/21 Ole Miss Sunday afternoon at Ole Miss Softball Stadium.

The Rebels took the opener, 1-0, before clinching the series with a 5-3 game two victory.

Following Sunday’s doubleheader, Mizzou moves to 18-18 this season and 1-7 in the SEC while Ole Miss improves to 28-6 (5-3 SEC).

 

GAME 1: No. 19/21 Ole Miss 1, Mizzou 0

Ole Miss secured the game one win with an RBI single in the third and a complete-game shutout from Miali Guachino.

Guachino allowed just two hits and two walks to go with nine strikeouts to improve to 12-5 this season.

Julia Crenshaw and Madison Walker each notched hits for Missouri while Kara Daly reached on a walk and a hit by pitch. Sophomore outfielder Claire Cahalan also drew a walk.

Starter Marissa McCann was assessed the loss (7-7), allowing just one earned run on seven hits with four strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

 

GAME 2: No. 19/21 Ole Miss 5, Mizzou 3

With the game tied at 2-2 through five innings, the Rebels utilized a three-run sixth to pull ahead and take the second game of the SEC series.

Mizzou took an early lead on a solo homer from Taylor Ebbs in the second.

The blast marked the sixth of the season and the 31st home run of her collegiate career. Ebbs, a senior from Keizer, Oregon, notched a season-best two hits (2-for-3) for the ninth time to go with a walk over game two.

The Rebels responded with a pair of home runs in the second and third to pull ahead 2-1 before Julia Crenshaw evened the contest back up with one swing in the top of the fifth.

For Crenshaw, a senior catcher from O’Fallon, Missouri, the roundtripper was her career-best 10th of the season and marked her 100th career RBI. She has now reached base in nine-straight games (eight-game hitting streak).

Down to its final three outs in the seventh, Kara Daly added a solo home run to left to trim the margin to 5-3.

Daly matched a career-best three hits Sunday, finishing 3-for-4 with a double (eighth in 2025) to go with her 38th career home run (eighth in 2025). The senior from Jefferson City, Missouri, last had three hits at Florida on St. Patrick’s Day 2023. With the outing Sunday, Daly has now reached safely in four-straight games.

Madison Uptegrove and Kayley Lenger (HBP) each added hits for Mizzou.

Taylor Pannell was handed the loss (4-4 in 2025), allowing three earned runs on two hits with a strikeout.

Cierra Harrison received the no decision, throwing 4.1 innings and allowing two earned runs on five hits.

Jayci Kruse pitched the final two outs, allowing no runs on one hit with a strikeout.
