MSU WP Grizzly basketball coach Jared Phay talked with Ozark radio sports on the upcoming season that starts in OCT with some preseason games. Coach Phay said it’s nice to have a little more time with the players compared to last year.

Coach Phay went on to tell us about a couple players that we should be excited to watch play for the Grizzlies.

 

Grizzlies open their regular season at home hosting last year’s national champion Coffeyville on Nov. 2nd.

 

Volleyball jamboree’s

West Plains will travel to Glendale on Tuesday Aug 24th along with Branson scrimmages will start at 5pm.

 

Cabool will have a VB jamboree on Thursday Aug 26th with Houston and Willow Springs scrimmages will start at 5pm.

 

Ava will travel to Sparta Thursday Aug. 26th for a volleyball jamboree with Blue Eye and Conway scrimmages will start at 6pm.

 

Adam Wainwright threw eight shutout innings as the Cardinals topped the Pirates 3-nothing in St. Louis.  The right-hander picked up his 12th win by striking out nine and allowing just two hits.  Alex Reyes nailed down his 28th save of the year.  Paul Goldschmidt mashed a homer as St. Louis snapped a two-game losing streak.  Kevin Newman had the lone extra-base hit for the Buccos, who were looking for the sweep of their division rivals.  Steven Brault fell to oh-and-2, despite giving up just one run over four innings of work.

Cardinals have today off but will host the Tigers Tuesday pregame 550 first pitch 635 all on kuku 100.3 and 1450 news talk radio kwpm. The Royals played the Cubs Sunday and won 9-2. KC is headed to Houston to take on the Astro’s tonight at 710.
