Mizzou defensive line coach Jethro Franklin has been relieved of his duties, football head coach Eliah Drinkwitz announced Sunday. “After a careful review, I believe a change in direction at the defensive line coach was needed,” Drinkwitz said. “Jethro is a professional and man of high character, and we wish him all the best moving forward.” Defensive analyst Al Davis will move into a full-time coaching role with the defensive line for the rest of the 2021 season.
The Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Volleyball team came close to winning all three of its games at the Iowa/Missouri Challenge this past weekend in Marshalltown, Iowa. But in a five-set thriller Saturday, No. 2 Iowa Western Community College, Council Bluffs, slipped past the No. 8 Grizzlies 25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 13-25, 13-15, giving the Grizzlies their only loss of the outing.

The Grizzly Invitational will be held on the 8th and 9th 2pm to 6pm each day at the West Plains Civic Center. Teams taking part in this invitational MSU-WP, Tyler JC, Trinity Valley, Hutchinson CC and Jefferson College. The MSU WP Lady Grizzlies play at 2pm on Friday that game will be broadcast on The Fox 969 and live video streamed at Ozark radio news dot com as well as both games the Lady Grizzlies play on Saturday.
